Owner Information
The Maine Women’s Business List welcomes for-profit, Maine-based businesses that are 50% or more woman-owned to register. Self-employed individuals, freelancers, and contractors are also welcome to join. The Maine Women’s Business List aligns with the definition of women and female that explicitly includes not only cis women, but also trans women and femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer and non-binary individuals. We define Maine-based as businesses that are legally registered or headquartered in Maine.

THE MAINE WOMEN’S BUSINESS LIST

Please note: that registering for the List does not confer any official certification. It is not the same as becoming certified as a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) or an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). Both of these certifications make it easier for you to sell your goods or services to the government, and you can learn more about them here, or by reaching out to Maine APEX for help determining if government contracting is right for you. Registering for this list is also not the same as a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification, which you can learn more about here. Registering for the Maine Women’s Business List does include you in this powerful, interactive directory which connects customers and partners looking for ways to support woman-owned businesses like yours.
